    WILL unis consider your as grades as some schools aren't even doing external as grades. or will unis only consider gcses and predicted grades for a2? i'm so in the dark with regards to all of this

    Universities will consider AS grades and have asked schools/colleges not taking AS exams to include the results of mocks or similar within the reference.

    Most universities explain this on their websites somewhere: https://www.ucas.com/advisers/guides...ication-reform

    They're asking as many schools and colleges as possible to continue entering students for AS qualifications even though they're a less reliable predictor of A level grades now the two qualifications have been split.

    thanks for the reply! will they place more weight on predicted grades or as grades? as our as grades arent final and dont contribute at all to A2 grade such as bio and chem

    They'll place the same weight on predicted grades that they always did...predicted grades have always been the first filter for most universities - the rest only gets looked at if you are likely to meet their standard offer or close to it or have a good reason not to.
