Today, voting has opened for whether Oxford University Student's Union will remain affiliated with the NUS. After some controversy and a lot of dissatisfaction with the NUS, many student's unions are debating whether to stay or leave.

What is your opinion on the NUS and do you think it actually does anything for students or is it just a bunch of future labour politicians condemning government policies?

(Links to both sides of the argument from the campaigns to stay or leave in Oxford are linked on this page for anyone interested: http://ousu.org/representing-you/elections/)

Was at uni for 4 years and still have zero idea what the NUS actually does.

It just seems like one big edgy liberal circle jerk.

The NUS are essentially just the fun police.
Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
