    Hi all,

So I am starting my Primary KS1/2 PGCE in September. I have jumped through the hoops and passed the tests but I am now starting to think what is next. As I am a mature student with a family I like to plan and have a good understanding of what is going to happen.

What can I do to prepare myself for September? What stationary should buy to organise my work properly? What can I expect to be doing on hte PGCE work wise?

    Any help would be awesome.

Join the FB group (link in sig) and meet other people in your position (or course).

Personally, I've been brushing up on subject knowledge, making resources to help me, buying books and some stationary and etworking professionally on twitter.

Every course works differently so it's difficult to advise. There wasn't really anything I could do to prepare for mine other than get some lever arch folders with dividers but, later in the year, my university started giving them away so even that wasn't strictly necessary! If I were you, I'd simply make the most of any free time I have. You could turn your entire house into a Ryman store and the PGCE will still find a way of making you feel underprepared. As annoying as that is, I think it makes you better at dealing with the unexpected as a teacher.
