    Help please!

    A 34 ohm resistor dissipates 500 J of energy every second. What is the potential difference across it?

    Thanks in advance

    500 J/S pretty much means 500W of power. Because 1 Watt is 1 Joule per second.

    Using P = V^2/R, we rearrange to get V so that is:
    PR=V^2
    Hence the voltage would be the square root of (500x34) which rounds to about 130.4V
