Neighbour parked in our driveway watch

    • Thread Starter

Our neighbours don't have a big enough driveway for a car so we let them park partly on our driveway so they can fit in 1 car. (we have space for three medium size cars btw so up until now we weren't worried about having space)

Now last weekend they told us they got a motorhome and were going to park it in their driveway for a while even though they don't have space and were going to park it partly on our driveway. I thought it was a camper van and something like this

    But instead it's this

They at first parked on their side but we let them park in our driveway for a couple of days.cos our driveway actually fits the van unlike theirs and was making it almost difficult to get out of the driveway

Our neighbour is now saying he hasn't found somewhere to put it and needs more time. He tried to convince my dad to keep it on our driveway in exchange for some money. And my dad said no. they said that they don't see what the problem is. Except we have two cars and a motorbike so space isn't exactly a luxury. And we have visitors sometimes who need to park in our driveway because they don't have a permit to park on the street.

Is there anything we can do to get this monstrosity off our driveway?

Give them fair warning then threaten to get it towed? That might not be good for what appeared to be a good relationship between you and your neighbours until that point (just to be clear, I don't know how the legal process to get it towed would work, if at all, but the threat might do it).

It might be best to suggest an alternative solution to them. If they know that you want it moved, they might just not have any ideas for what else to do with it. If you could give them a viable alternative, that might do it.

Finally, as a last resort because they are very, very overstretched, you could see if your local council has an antisocial behaviour unit who could mediate somehow.
Do you agree with the PM's proposal to cut tuition fees for some courses?
