    we rent. it costs me £620 a month, and i haven't been able to claim housing benefits for these past couple of years. so i think that it makes sense to buy now

    I have got about £160k funds, and i have found somewhere for £170k but hopefully i will be able to get the seller down a £10k, because i am a cash binder?

    road traffic accident award compensation from 1997. most of it has gone now though.

    we are renting now, but it would be cheaper to buy, in the long term i mean.

    you're old obviously you're more likely to be able to buy a house. You're not even part of the underprivileged/'not able to make house purchases' millenials so no big deal that you're buying a house. Shh.
