Hey guys, just wanted to ask a quick question.

If I had a chemical equation and needed to write the state symbols, am I allowed to just encapsulate the species that have the same states in brackets and state a single state symbol outside of it that applies to all species inside the brackets, or do I HAVE to state each state symbol individually?

Small question, I know, but any help would be much appreciated!

Just stick to the internationally agreed way.

E.G. HCl (aq) + NaOH (aq) \rightarrow NaCl (aq) + H_2O (l)
