    Hey,

I know nothing about marketing or business and really need to get started as a food photographer, most local business contact photographers through word of mouth... but how can I get myself known!

Thanks Arvin, I was also wanting to add onto my website that I provide photography and website consultation because most clients have a terrible website or use my photography in the least attractive way! Do you think this is a good area to go down?

Hi Miss Sal, one great way to get noticed is to have a good website, along with a social media presence. If you're interested in getting a website up and running we can help!

I have a website set up, I want to keep it simple www.sallyphilpott.co.uk but currently only has still life photography but I want to get a range of work so plan to set it up as my main area of specialisation being food and then have sub categories for fine dining, still life, etc... so attract a wide range of clients. I think it would be a good idea to get some business cards and or flyers, but my design skills are limited and deciding which photo to put onto my business card is tough... or does it need a photo! Can you see I have no idea how to market myself haha

That's great but how... I find it difficult to find clients and when I do they are through word of mouth! I appreciate the more work I get the more people will talk but how do I get the work!!!
