My hair is very messy in the mornings so I use water to wet it down into place but this seemingly gives hair a 'greasy' look after a while.

I'm wondering how others maintain their hair; how common is it for a gentleman to use hairspray or gel/wax, how easy are these methods - any disadvantages?

    Much appreciated for any help.

My hair is the most annoying thing ever as its to heavy so without hair spray it will go down. My morning routine is getting a shower, get a hair dryer helping it to stay in place, put some putty on it and then finish off with a it of hair spray.

Ah, thanks for mentioning shampoo; that's another question I have:
I remember back in school the girls would often say that boys don't need to condition their hair; I use 2in1 shampoo and conditioner. Is this wrong?!

no it's not wrong. it is a crime however if the product has sulphate in it, or silicon in the conditioner. these products strips your oil away and your body negative feedback thingy reacts by reproducing more sebum than needed and it makes your hair greasy. read the ingredients!
