I'm 22 years old and never had a girlfriend before. I've only been on one date and it went badly. Alongside that many of the rejections (from asking girls out) have been brutal and that damages my self-confidence.

I just can't be bothered to find a girlfriend now, I've given up. I've made so many changes in my appearance, changing my clothes, hairstyle, wearing good cologne, going to the gym... Whilst that has boosted my self-confidence, girls just don't seem interested in me. I'm also a graduate so it's exceptionally hard to find girls these days.

I think it's just better if I stay single, then there's no drama. Don't know what else to do. Need advice.

If I were you I'd stay single to find the right person who won't waste your time or just blow you off. This is common as a lot of people feel this, don't try too hard love appears itself

Feel the same way mate. I've pretty much given up on love at this point.

Here's how I see it; I have a good heart, am not bad looking, I'm very motivated and work hard at everything I do, I'm career-driven, family-focused, intelligent, mature, kind, etc etc. I have my flaws like everyone else, but for all the good I am and can do, if a woman doesn't want that then it's her loss and not mine. I've spent too long (over a year, in fact) trying to figure out why I don't attract women, and whilst I certainly wouldn't mind companionship or heck even just an active sex life, sometimes there's things in life we can't change (and like you, I've changed/worked on myself in an effort to improve my chances). Fact of the matter is, I won't ever appeal to younger women, and I won't accept being the guy women settle for later on in life when they have baggage and/or have had their fun. Accepting I'll be single for the rest of my life has put my mind at ease.

Perhaps, like me, there's nothing you can do other than to wait it out. Live your life. If love is to come your way, then it will. For now, just go forth and enjoy your life.
