I've re-read the email twice and genuinely can't find anything! The email itself contains no info except 'please find attached' and the two attachments consist of 'expression of interest form' and 'civil service DAS FAQs'. is that what you got?

It took them about 6-8 weeks to get department allocations out last year. They won't be sending a confirmation of any sort to say they've received the form if it's the same process as in the past.

Thanks Outrigger, that's cheered me up.

Do people who are further along the process know when they are starting? Does virtually everybody start in August or the beginning of October? I had heard from a former Fast Streamer that some postings can start as late as April. I need to give my company at least three months' notice and move back to the UK. But from what I can make out, the CS only gives you a contract/starting date 12 weeks in advance, which suggests I would need to hand in my notice on the same day as I receive the offer letter and fly to the UK the night before I start my new job. Not ideal.

I've been accepted for the GES stream and have been given a department. Somebody contacted me to ask about my preferred location and when I'd be available to start, and was surprised when I said my notice period for my current job is 2 months. This implies they're they're ready to take people on asap. Sorry this is long winded but what I'm getting at is it depends on how bad they need you from what I'm hearing. Department of Health has loads of vacancies hence they're in real need of fast streamers/analysts. Also I think analytical streams are moving faster in general, which stream are you doing?

Anyone who has sent off the Candidate Information Form... did you get a confirmation email?

It's been two weeks and I haven't heard anything and didn't get any confirmation that they'd received it, I don't know whether (or even how) to chase it up.

Also been waiting more than two weeks. They definitely received mine, as well, because I originally sent it three weeks ago, but it was unclear whether they would be able to process me for SC/CTC because of time spent abroad; when they said they could, they emailed me back to let me know they'd be getting on with processing my form. I wouldn't worry - there's obviously just a huge backlog!

Has anyone at all doing General heard anything about placements?

I'm an amber banded generalist so might be knocked out next week. If so, I'd really like a das offer but not sure how likely that is

I just want to know what is happening. People with lower scores have been offered DAS so we should get something. However who knows.
They have revised the scores again for generalist today. But I'm in the small number of still waiting.... this not exactly comforting. They still don't know place numbers

Who passed generalist today, and do you mind sharing your score ?

I'm still awaiting results at 9.74...

When will we hear?!

Any amber banded generalists have the courage to ring parity? Lol

When do you think we will be put out of our misery ?

Interesting, thank you. I'm on the Generalist stream and I'm mostly through my pre appointment checks, though I did get a message from Disclosure Scotland saying they might need to "clarify" some parts of my application. I definitely need to give three months' notice but I'm wondering how much store to set by the Induction days, whether they are important or it's just useful if you can attend. I've just been contacted by my buddy but no clue yet on what kind of department I might land in. I guess that only gets decided after the checks are complete, which I'm really hoping will happen soon!!

Who knows. I emailed they said they had no more information on what the timeframe would be
Hi all,
a worry has come to my mind!

I'm balancing a 3 month notice period, with a CTC that takes 4-8 weeks (depending on who you ask) - so in essence available to start working in mid October most optimistically. Against the fact that my first offered post, starts in august/september.

I got the impression that I'm still elligible for other posts with the same job title within the department, even if I can't meet the date of the one I've been offered provisionally. But I'm just curious as to what happens if there is no posts that happen to line up with my CTCs and notice period?

Will everything have been in vain?
This is long.

I am still amber banded for generalist. I got 9.69.

I just want to known one way or the other.

I'm hoping remaining amber banded generalists will hear after 31st may when diplomatic service candidates hear the results of their FSBs? I assume a lot of them have generalist as second choice so once they accept/reject recruitment will know how many more spaces they have

Hi there, please do not worry about this. The minimum security requirement for working as a civil servant is BPSS. This is the check that is carried out for FS by party (the so-called pre-appointment checks). You should be able to log in to the candidate website and under your application check the progress on this (it says successful when it has been completed).

CTC (and SC and DV) are levels of security vetting (also known as a security clearance). This will allow you unescorted access to buildings (CTC), unrestricted access to documents classed SECRET (SC) and unrestricted access to TOP SECRET (DV). There is some overlap with the document levels, though if you do not have DV then your access to TOP SECRET will be monitored/restricted etc.

My understanding (after talking to my buddy) is that you are able to start working once you have passed BPSS, and that it may be the case that your workload will be adjusted whilst you are waiting for your clearance to come through. So do not worry about your CTC lining up with your start date. As for your notice period, I suspect this year recruitment is taking much longer than expected as it is a new system, you are supposed to receive your contract 12 weeks before your start date, which suggests that as long as you do not need to give more than 3 months notice, you should be fine.

On the subject of NSV, has anyone on the generalist scheme heard that their clearance has been granted? I suspect that they are waiting until they have a final list before they start processing them??
Great news!! My status has changed from amber to pass today!! Such a huge relief. Thank you guys/girls for sharing your journey with me on this forum it was incredibly helpful. Now off the next stage!. ( my score is 9.77).
Anyone received an FSB feedback report yet?
Failed the video interview for all streams but Digital and Technology
Got a 10.67 at the Assessment Centre
Failed the D&T FSB.
What a waste of 9 months. Third time applying. I'm done with the civil service.

I got my FCO FSB report back around two weeks after being told I was successful (about two weeks ago). It came directly by email from the FCO though and it still doesn't seem to be uploaded to the portal yet.

It was interesting reading, much like the FSAC report it groups the feedback under the competency pairs but it focuses a lot more on developmental feedback at the FSB stage. You don't get a numerical score against the competences, I had a mix of 'effective' and 'meets the required standard' marks. There was no feedback on the interview, only the exercises. I did also get my MLAT score, but I asked for that separately. It doesn't appear to be part of the main report.
