Switching from Media to Business IT

I have just completed first year of Media and Communications and university, however, I am not satisfied with the knowledge that I've gained (barely anything new), the organisation of the course (lecturers aways coming and leaving) and the layout. I feel at though it's a waste of nine grand and I need a meatier course. I did get a good grade, although I feel it was a walk in a park and I was not pushed at all.
I am looking to study Business Information Technology instead, as it's always been my base and seems more of a challenge. I am asking around current 2nd/ 3rd years on both courses for opinions from people who have done either of the courses.
I'd rather waste 9,000 than 27,000 and still feel the same way, hence why I'm willing to take the risk!
Would really appreciate any form of advice as I need to make a decision and fast.
