Medicine, nursing, or allied health with a specific learning difficulty watch

    • Thread Starter

I currently work as a HCA in a psychiatric unit and from September I'll be a student speech and language therapist. I have dyspraxia and an autistic spectrum disorder, and recently I was chatting to a couple of friends who also have specific learning difficulties, one a qualified clinical psychologist and the other a speech and language therapist. We thought it would be an interesting idea to set up a discussion and support group for health professionals and student health professionals who have specific learning difficulties/neurodevelopmental disorders - dyspraxia, dyslexia, autistic spectrum disorders, ADHD, etc. It's intended as a place to discuss all aspects of career development and clinical practice that are particularly relevant to professionals with these difficulties. We created a closed Facebook group for it. If anyone here meets the criteria and would like to join, let me know and I will give you the link.
