    sometimes, not always. It will be up to the examiner who marks your work, if they know the field they are marking well then they should identify you as correct but if they don't know the field they may overlook it as a mistake.

    This. Some markers are very narrow sighted and only accept answers in the mark scheme. In extreme cases if you don't get something word for word they'll mark you wrong. Other markers will be more lenient and willing to award marks for something not in the mark scheme. However discretion usually falls with the head examiner and if they don't think you got it right, they won't give you the mark.

    It really is luck of the draw and can in some cases really depend on whether the person marking your work had a good day or not.
