Gender dysphoria mental illness??

Hi i am an A level student studying psych next year at uni. With exams soon, i was wondering on how to define gender dysphoria. My textbook aqa, states its a mental disorder, but in a different category in the dsm V, the nhs website states its not. Please clarify. I am simply not interested in how PC something is, whereas i am concerned with the possible issues in choosing to call this a mental disorder, i would like the most up to date answer possible please, that is purely scientific.
