Round this time of year I always find myself triggered by all the Ramadan posts due to the emphasis on fasting due to my problems. I Just wonder if anyone else feels that way and how you tend to cope with it? Thanks (no offence meant, yes I'm an atheist but each to their own).

Do you mean you have some an eating disorder and it triggers you in that sense?

Really sorry to hear that, it's such a cruel disease. Is there anyone you can talk to in particular? Friends or even a school counsellor?

Only every 6 months because I'm weight restored and they don't care about the actual mindset I struggle with

It really is and no not really - I'm scared to talk to anyone in my life as due to my history they'll overreact hence why I'm asking anonymously on here I guess

It's not just the threads, it's all around me - in the news, college etc. All of the waiting lists are ridiculously long for a therapist and I can't afford to pay private fees but maybe I'll get in touch with my personal tutor at college?

You can get other help for that though sweetheart. You can get counselling or cbt or you can just make regular appointments with your GP for a chat when things get too difficult. But I would definitely suggest you ask to be referred for something else like the things I've mentioned.

My GP is really awful and I've had CBT but I had the maximum appointments available for 2 local services. I have been waiting to be transferred to a new mental health service for 2 months now. Thanks for the advice - maybe the college can suggest somewhere.

You are not muslim just remember that and it's only for 30 days that's it. You need to think of something else when you hear about ramadan.
Yes get in touch with your tutor isn't there a counsellor type of person at college?

I'm trying and no there isn't but the teachers are pretty good with this stuff apparently.
