If you used Clearing in 2024, how did you find it?

Drinking Societies

Hi guys, I'm planning a project for next term and need to know the names of all the surviving drinking societies- the ones i know of at the moment are

The Bullingdon
The Stoics
The Swans

Christ Church- The Loder's Club, The Cardinals, The Nondescripts
The Kingsley Club- Worcester
The Claret Club- Trinity
The Phoenix Club- BNC
King Charles II- Johns

I know all of these are still running and have regular dinners etc but does anyone know if the following clubs still meet regularly? And does anyone know any others that still run?

Musketeers (Oriel)
Elizabethans (Jesus)
Myrmidon Club (Merton)
Missionaries (Magdalen)

Yep the Lizzies still runs at Jesus and we now also have the Dolphins for women.

the goblins and faeries at lincoln still run (male and female sports drinking societies respectively).

The Myrmidons are still active at Merton, as are the Mermaids (their female counterpart) and L'Ancien Regime.

You should add Piers Gaveston onto there. The rest of the major ones (Bullingdon, Stoics, Swans) still exist as well.

His TSR profile says he's called James Smith, but the only James Smith at Oxford that I can find on Facebook is studying, and I quote, "Zoology, Plant Sciences" and graduates in 2007. So either he's a genuine student at another university who has lurked on TSR for ages but finally registered now he needs our help - and that's fair enough - or he's a journalist, or otherwise has a reason for wanting this information that he isn't disclosing.

Or maybe I'm a cynical old cow (I am going to be a finalist next term. Hold me?) who should shut up.
