# Core 3 Differentiation Help watch

1. So I'm doing some MPC3 differentiation and basically its just to differentiate.

y= e^(2-x)ln(3x-2) when x=2

Which is apparently 3/4 - ln4.

But surely if I put 2 in to x I just get ln4, as e^(2-2) = 1 and ln(3x2)-4 = ln4

Shouldn't there still be a term of x to be able to differentiate this?

differentiate first then sub in 2
3. dy/dx = -e^(2-x)ln(3x-2) + 3e^(2-x)/(3x-2)
x=2 dy/dx = e^0ln(4) +3e^(0)/4
dy/dx = 3/4 - ln 4
