Basically I feel £26 a month for broadband is a rip off, when our company charges new customers £19 a month, so i m hoping some persistence with their retention line might get the price down when i call them tommorow, wondering if anyone else has ever haggled on one of their bills?

Yes, every renewal time. I always find another supplier and deal first then give my current supplier a chance to match it.

All the other suppliers appear to be a good £5 a month cheaper so hopefully they'll match it.

Two good lines to remember are "Is that the best you can do for me?" ... *They will say yes* ... "okay thank you, I'll get back to you when I've finished looking around"

If they are good sales people you wont even get the chance to hang up

Funnily enough it is part of my job, I negotiate service charge budgets.
