# m1 question wording Watch

1. QP:https://ca99c64778b62ba7e7b339967029...%20Edexcel.pdf

For q3a,

the question asks for the magnitude of of the vertical component and the answer is 6/7 mg.

however it doesn't say anywhere to put the answer in terms of m? How do we know when to put the answer in terms of some value as apposed to an actual number?

I spent ages trying to find the value of m and turns out it wasn't needed

edit: meant m2, not m1
2. Unfortunately that's the way it is. I agree with you that they should always tell you the form of your answer, though.

It's just practice to see whether you can work out M without actually doing it. Also, you could look at the marks awarded and see whether your work so far is enough for all those marks.
