Chromosomes are long lengths of DNA that are coiled up and DNA are a long list of instructions on how to structure an organism and make it work.
Then a gene is a sort section of DNA. Each separate(individual) gene of a DNA molecule is a chemical instruction that codes for a particular protein, hence codes for a certain characteristic.

Therefore chromosomes contains genetic information, DNA carries genetic information, and genes define the characteristics of the genetic information.
