I did very poorly in my AS levels (dropped out of one, DEU in the rest) in 2014, took a year off education and am now doing a BTEC which I'm doing quite well in (predicted D*D for the first year). My question is, though I know I have to declare all my time in education and have to write down my failed grades, will it impact me largely in getting into uni?

Yes you have to declare all of your previous grades but your btec grades should make up for that so i wouldnt worry too much
