    Hi everyone

Soooo I was wondering - is there any students currently in PR, Comms or Media degrees? Or any that have graduated and working in these sectors?

As it's the summer I start reflecting on each year at uni (always do this) and thinking what job I would like to go into when I graduate...scary stuff

Also I've managed to secure a placement over the summer so again that makes me think about working life after uni.

    If so may I ask:

    1) Why did you get into the industry?
    2) What do you like about it?
    3) Currently, what is your job (or if a student) what type of job would you like to go into/who would you like to work for?

At the moment, the ideal would be:
    - Communications Officer or a digital content officer/social media for a university or a national park (would like to have a job where I can be both in and outdoors)
    - Own my own PR/digital media company and freelance as well.

Thanks for my endless stream of questions...I'll shush now and await your wonderful answers

    Thanks!

    Hey hey

What degree are you doing? This is my plan as well haha! I'm currently studying Digital Media and Informatics. I also work as a social media assistant in a cultural heritage site in England and I'm hoping to get a social media or marketing internship. I love working in cultural heritage so much so I really want to be a communications / social media / engagement etc officer

    Hiii.

Right now I'm doing a BA in Performance Design and Communication and will do a MA in digital media management in 2017 (most likely at Kings). I've worked with PR and different media and non profit organisations as well as doing some freelance work as a blogger. In the future I would like to work with either influencers (bloggers, youtubers etc.) as a part of their management team. Another goal is to working in the communication/pr department at big record labels like Sony or Capital. Lots of dreams!

The best part of the industry is the huge amount of opportunities! You can work in every sector you like as every company has a need for media management of some kind. I love being creative and constantly evolving and becoming better and more skillful. I love the fact that not two weeks of my life is the same. Every day, a new job and a new chance of getting creative.

    Good luck!
