In one oscillation, the bar will swing from its start position over to the left and then back to the start. From the diagrams at the beginning of the paper, you can see that the ball hits the bar at the bottom of its first swing i.e one quarter of the way through one oscillation.

Where can I find more practical questions like this ? I am struggling with practical part in AQA physics.
