Phone, instant messenger... and letters are really lovely to receive. Also make sure that when you arrange meeting up you do it properly - make the most of it. And maybe you could meet in the middle so neither one of you has to do all the travelling?

Meet at a mid point or take it in turns to see each other. Write letters, email, text and phone. If you want to make it work then it will be a lot of effort but you can try.

God that probably couldn't be much further apart! It will be difficult, but you can phone, email, etc and meet up in the middle somewhere or go and visit each other

No seriously, just work out a rotor for coming to see each other every 2nd week. Like weekend 1 you go see him (or her) then weekend 3 he/she comes to see you. Use train (sweets, book and music are essential for this option)l.

Remember absence makes the heart grow fonder

Amen

Webcam and internet phonecall thingies. They are quite cheap. Taking it in turns to visit or if its too far meet somewhere in the middle.
My good friend from uni managed a longdistance relationship for ages so it is possible but you need to be prepared to make the effort or you might as well not bother.
