I have a place on a PGCE course (Comp Sci) starting in September. I previously started the same course last year, but was forced to withdraw when the Met were unable to return my DBS from stage 4 in time (it finally arrived on 05/11/2015). I have been made aware that the Met are, if anything, performing even more poorly as regards DBS turnaround this year.

My concern is that I might end up in exactly the same situation again, so does anyone have any experience of being in this position? Does anyone have knowledge of a university accepting a DBS previously done on their behalf in lieu of a delayed subsequent application for one?

I have tried to get answers from the admissions dept, but they are still at the "let's wait and see" stage. Whereas I am starting to edge towards the Defcon 1 "here we go again" stage, so any guidance would be gratefully accepted.
Do you agree with the PM's proposal to cut tuition fees for some courses?
