How realistic is it to get a summer intership in London, if you're not from there? Watch

    Hi,
I've been looking for jobs over the summer, signed up with an agency in my area, still nothing though. I started thinking about an intership, but was suprised with the lack of placements in my area, there's virtually nothing.....

I looked on various websites, like indeed and monster and found that the majority of good ones are in London. My parents basically laughed at me when I bought up the idea, saying that I would eat through my £2500 savings on rent, and the small internship wage wouldn't support me in London.

My question is, could I possibility move to London for the summer and do an internship, given my savings and current internship wage in London?
Any experiences you guys have to add about doing this would be great, if you have done. Also , sorry for my ignorance if this is totally not possible at all !

You might barely scrape by, depends how much the internship pays, how long exactly you plan to be there, and if you actually want any of that money after that internship ends, weekly rent in london is usually at least double than anywhere else for a *****y 1 room flat, I think it's like £200 a week. Then theres the higher cost of basically everything, food, travel, amenities, entertainment. a night is probably very expensive as well.

Thanks for the response ! I'm trying to find out both of the things you mentioned from the company I'm interested in.
