Hitting pillows does not work at all. Too much give in them. I find punching the back of a desk chair is fantastic.

Some kind of exercise is good to get rid of anger. The anger spurs you on and eventually you tire yourself out and are no longer annoyed. Added to that, the exercise is good for you! Suitable examples of exercise in this situation are running (screaming at the top of your voice whilst doing this is entirely optional, depending on your mood and where you live), punching things (something with only a little give in it. If you don't have a punchbag, try a leather sofa, they have the right consistancy) or digging large holes in your back garden with a hefty spade (better at releasing anger than it sounds). Happy anger management.
