# m2 edexcel question watch

1. for q7, how is it that we know point B is below point A?

I got the correct answer but I just guessed, how would I of known from the working out or from the question?

2. If B was above A, the particle has increased both its potential energy and kinetic energy as the speed at B is higher than at A. The energy change occurring is gpe -> kinetic energy so B must be below A for it to have increased in speed.

So you are saying it is not possible for the particle to gain GPE and also gain kinetic energy?

For one to increase, the other has to decrease.
