Did I choose bad options?

I'm taking Further Maths, Maths, Economics and Computer Science next year. I'm planning on studying something Mathsy at uni and my mom thinks I should take Physics Not Further... What do you think?

No they're perfect tbh. I am doing maths, further maths, biology and chemistry haha so yh they're fine

Sometimes physics is preferred as one of the A Level subjects (this is what I heard) but further maths is probably more preferred and important!

I think you should do Physics instead of Economics but only if your teacher can actually teach physics ask people in the year above because **** teachers will ruin physics for you.

If you don't want to do physics, don't take it. If your mum wants you to do it, or anyone advises you to take it, and you don't want to - then don't take it!!!! Yes it'll look better - but if you don't even like it then why take it?

My Maths teacher teaches Physics too and she told me not to take physics but to take computing. Everyone says its the hardest a level at my school so idk xD

I don't know if I like it tbh, because I hated when I had teachers I don't like but I like it now because my favourite teacher teaches it but I don't know if she'll be teaching me anyway...
further maths is so much better than physics. If you want to do something to do with maths at uni you definitely want further maths too.

if you're doubting whether you like it this far into exam season, chances are you'll hate it at a level because it'll be so much harder. Honestly with a subject like science, which is really demanding, if you're even unsure you like it I just wouldn't take it. You can take amazing courses at university with the options you've already chosen, you'd be much better off with four A's than three A's and a C in physics because you didn't like it!

TBH if you're interested in it go for it but most physics teachers around are awful... a lot of self teaching is needed

Okay I think I'll stick with my choices then.
Definitely keep the maths and further maths, and I would choose physics if you enjoy it. Physics is facilitating (and lots of good universities prefer students with at least 2, or even 3, facilitating subjects), and many universities do prefer maths students who have physics and chemistry... BUT if you don't like physics and it isn't one of your strongest subjects, then I wouldn't take it.

Hope this helps & good luck for the future!

yes.

Is computer science seen as a 'good' subject by unis?

yes.

How do you find them?

Computer Science is seen as a 'proper science' by universities alongside the main three, (biology, physics and chemistry) so if your mum is worried about you not taking one of said three, she needn't be. If you want to specialise in maths and you enjoy it, go for it! You're much more likely to do well in a subject you enjoy.

I have found physics a lot more difficult than further maths, part of the reason may be because my further maths teachers are a lot better, but even considering that I think physics just has harder concepts to understand. Also the coursework in physics is awful.

Last year I did end up getting the same grade in further maths and physics, but this was with a lot more revision in physics because I knew I was worse at it.

Okay I think that's her biggest worry tbh she wants me to do a science... Yay okay!
