my laptop is a windows 7 Packard bell. Basically since yesterday it will not pick up the house WiFi connection even though it can pick up every other connection in the area. I'm not sure why. My phone and other devices are all picking up the house WiFi so it can't be a problem with that, but the laptop instead.
does anybody know how to fix this and can take me through step by step in laymans terms? (I'm not great at techy stuff).
would appreciate any help because I really need to get on with some work on my laptop that I can't do on a phone.
thank you very much.
please help! my laptop won't find the home wifi connection but all other devices can. Watch

Can you connect to the router with an Ethernet cable to get a connection?
If you can then....
It could be the drivers that need updating.
(Control panel-System-device manager-network-*your wireless adapter*
It could be that the type of encryption that the router is set to use, such as WPA2 so you could temporarily change that to an open connection to see if you can connect.
Or you can use your phone as a hotspot to update the drivers or to see if it helps with an alternative
