Can anyone explain the Van Noorden index in terms of how evil its author is? As if I get the grades he'll be teaching me Economics next year...
Not as an author. The 'rate of inflation' in Oxford Uni, isn't the rate as set by the bank of England. It's usually around 2% higher and is called the 'Van Noorden' index. It will determine how much college provided facilities will go up in cost (i.e your rent for one...)

OK, so he won't be charging me for tutorials or anything?
Roger's a great guy. Even if he does like engineering.
That's a huge relief (except for the engineering part). In the interview he did seem to be the most kindly old man in the history of time, but I did have a suspicion that he and the other guy were playing good cop-bad cop.
Good ol' Godfrey is that? Both are pretty good, I haven't been taught by either, but from the little experience I have I don't have a problem with them.

Yep, it's Godfrey. Incredibly harsh to me in the interview, really nice when I bumped into him the following day figuring out how my keys worked.
A little unnerving, but he's clearly a good economist.
