EMA July Bonus

When is the July bonus usually paid?

I apparently have 94.5% attendance, despite having missed no lessons - but our registers are on the SIMS.net software and if our teacher doesn't take the register we are marked as absent for that lesson. But someone told me that attendance doesn't matter for this bonus, and that it's just for:

- attendance for all examinations you were entered for.
- completion of all coursework
- completion of any targets said
- good behaviour throughout the course

Is this true? Or am I going to have to appeal against it and discuss with my head of year that I haven't actually missed a lesson? Although I assume everyone who was in the class when the register was not taken is in the same boat, but if what I've heard is true - attendance isn't a deciding factor...

I had 91% attendence last year and I still got the bonus. I can't remember when it was paid in though.
Thanks.

Got rid of your red gem for you. :p:

Attendance has nothing to do with it directly - it's decided by your College. They'll obviously take attendance into account, but there are no official quotas, as far as I'm aware. The only thing that we've been told we have to do is attend all of our exams. Noone I know has bothered turning up to any lessons for at least a month.
I think it's only the weekly payments that depend on attendance and the bonuses are more to do with effort and attainment, so you should be fine.

In my AS year I got the bonus 18th July. It will differ between colleges though, & I'm not sure if you get it earlier in the second year. I'm hoping you do, I'm going on holiday 15th July and would've liked the money :P

I've had the other 4 bonuses and I haven't done anything differently so I'm expecting to get this one. And I boody need it for holiday money too! lol.

I doubt it. We finish on the 20th, the school will be shut the day. Meaning no-one to authorise the payments, so it must be earlier than that. Before the 25th at least.

Jsk

If the letters are sent back then you obviously have a bank account. It varies with each college/sixth form but providing you meet their requirements (it should just be 12 hours of learning per week, but they can add their own rules up. I phoned up to complain but they told me it was at the school's discretion that if you wear a coat inside the building you don't get your EMA, *******s), it is paid straight into your bank account. Meaning you are free to do whatever the hell you like with it... Ours is usually paid on a Friday, or sometimes not at all.

I get £10, and am not applying for it next year as I'm sick of the threats of not getting it for not turning up to assembly or drinking fizzy drinks on 'campus', it'll just be nice to say I'm not going to your stupid assembly and I don't get EMA anyway... Because there is nothing left for them to threaten you with if you don't get EMA. I want a job anyway, because £10, £20 and £30 is **** all really.

Well, £30 would do me fine.

We get another bonus after finishing our Alevels ... fantatstic, nice surprise, I could put off getting a job for a couple more weeks then
It had better be before 28th July...I want holiday money!
Mine is coming on the 8th of July so said the letter, its nothing to do with the entire years attendance, it's per term and I think the school also decides wether you get it or not (as in if they actually report your absences or record your progress etc)

(I skip alot of classes, yet will soon be £150 richer for my pains  )

So would the experience of having a job and actually working for it.

In my college, the EMA Bonus criteria is to attend all exams, complete all assignments/coursework and on time, to perform the best of the student's ability and to attend study support sessions (if needed). So nothing to do with attendance at all.

I'm just anxious about my EMA Bonus Payment for June. Has anyone received their EMA Bonus yet? Apparently, according to my college, I should receive it by the end of this month, which is like now!
manm, the bonus is for the end of July, not June. And in the booklet I recieved when I applied for ema says you should have received 10 weeks pay of ema throughout the year. If you got this, and have completed all exams and coursework then you should get the bonus. Which is a good thing, as I simply cannot get a job this summer. I have applied for about 7!
I got told at my college they will apparently be put through july 1st and people should start getting them on july 4th. Obviously it will be different for all colleges and cities etc
