People are so frustrating. If something doesn't directly affect your happiness, and increases the happiness of others, then you shouldn't be against it. There've already been too many lives lost

Considering the Orlando shooter was said by his father to be culturally Muslim but not practicing - he was just really homophobic - that probably wasn't anything to do with his religion.

So this could be ultra-orthodox Jew, radical Muslim, conservative Christian, or a homophobic atheist. No one religion has a monopoly on homophobia and transphobia - the laws and bills getting passed in the US prove that. Considering the cultural make-up of the US, a conservative Christian ala Westboro Baptist Church (or any number of homophobic Christians/churches) is actually more likely.
