Although Edexcel states that to get an A*, the overall UMS should be at least 480, and the mark in C34 should be at least 180 UMS, I need some clarification.

I got an overall of 284 in my AS, does that mean that if I get 180 UMS in C34 (adding up to a total of 464), I am allowed to get 16 UMS only in my second applied unit ??

Moreover, the boundary for an A is 480 UMS overall. Does that mean that I could get a B in C34 as long as my overall is above 480 ?

    Thanks in advance.

    YES 480 total UMS that includes 180 in C34 = A*
    YES 480 total UMS with less than 180 in C34 = A

    Definitely A* in Mathematics

    For further mathematics,
    u need average 90 in top 3 A2 modules,
in this case, it should be the top 3 modules in m3,m2,f2,f3
In other words, u need 83 UMS in f2 or f3.

Depends what you get in your other 2 units but it won't be an A* as you didn't get 180 ums in C34.

Hi , My AS UMS is 266
If i get 180 UMS in C34 that would make my UMS 446, does that mean I only need minimum 34 UMS ( that would make my overall UMS 480 as needed minimum for A*) in S2 to get A* in Maths??
It seems a bit odd to me that i can do so bad in S2 and still secure A* in maths, can someone please confirm??

Yes. The requirements for an A* in maths are 480 ums that includes 180 ums from C34
