Help!!! They won't stick in my head!

Does anyone have any tips or advice from how you have memorised the mechanisms? I have a really bad memory as you can probably tell ...

You don't memorize them, you have to understand them. That's the only way they'll stick.

For example, knowing that C=C is an area of high electron density helps you remember that it will go through electrophilic addition. The negative charge will induce a delta positive dipole on the Br-Br bond and the positive Br Bond gives it's electrons to the other Br which makes it a nucleophile in the next step. That's how it works.

    Or youtube videos

Alternatively, if you dont have enough time; just keep doing loads of questions on them.
