A* grade - 90% conversion points?

How does the A* grade work for subjects like OCR Physics A and Chemistry A? I understand that you need to get an average of 90% over your A2 modules, however each of the units are weighted differently (module 4 = 15%, module 5= 25% and module 6 = 10%) - so how do you work out if you would've got an A* or not when doing past papers? If you use the OCR raw marks to UMS conversion tool, if you get a certain score or higher, it comes up with '90% CP' next to it, which stands for 90% conversion points. Could someone explain to me how this works?

You need 270 UMS from the A2 units, it doesn't matter how those UMS are spread between the 3 units.
