So back in March I made an impulse decision to go travelling in the summer before Uni and decided on Australia. All well and good up to this point, right?
So I went and put my deposit down on my flight and just finished paying it off last week! I'll be in Australia for 3 and a half weeks during Late August/September but currently have no plans or idea what to do. It'll be the first time I've gone on holiday without my family, never mind going to the other side of the world alone!
I've saved up/am saving up a fair amount of money so that shouldn't be too much of an issue. Has anyone got any good ideas on what to do in Melbourne/anywhere within a few hours of there? I don't mind doing short plane journeys between cities.
I have a brother in Tasmania who I will get round to seeing too
As for travelling alone, I'm a bit of an introvert and I'm trying to change that with this trip albeit in an extreme manner. Anyone know of a good way to find other people to do things with apart from at hostels?

Found this a while back some don't apply due to the time of year but it could be useful http://studentblogs.warwick.ac.uk/mo...y_year_abroad/
Also these for staying in Melbourne
As for meeting other people maybe a cooking or surfing course or joining a tour group would help you to make some friends.
