Sadiq Khan to ban "body shaming" adverts from London Transport

http://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/jun/13/sadiq-khan-moves-to-ban-body-shaming-ads-from-london-transport

More censorship to protect sensitive petals. The "beach body ready" advert is a bit stupid and I get the reasoning behind not wanting posters like this, but how is it a proportionate response to ban it? Why is the response to things like this always 'ban, ban, ban'?

I mean, the "beach body ready" advert is a bit stupid, but how is it a proportionate response to ban it?

It's strange coincidence that political Islam and the PC crowd seem to share the same ideas on censoring out a lot of our society.

With this being said, his exact words included 'tougher policy on things (images) that demean women'. This should be considered ominously vague, especially where Muslims are involved, as we know a vast majority want unIslamic speech/imagery to become illegal, and it looks like they are going to get what they want sooner rather than later.

If you're that sad about censorship of womens' bodies go watch porn. No one's banned that.

Why are you so desperate to see bikini clad women anyway?

Lol anything Sadiq Khan does is related back to islam in some way or another.. These guys are a joke lol.

Whats wrong with censoring images, especially those which cause insecurities amongst younger girls and often is the root cause of mental illnesses such as anorexia? I don't know about you but super skinny models/ those with the "perfect" body isn't always a possible target for achievement for most people. Most people cant get less than 10% body fat and it isn't good for their health for trying either.

But nope..The right definitely have to link it to islam some how.

You mean Muslims are very prejudice ? I agree, if they could just learn to tolerate other cultures and beliefs things would be a hell of a lot more peaceful on this planet.

What does this have to do with Muslim? Is everything that happens in London from now going to be because of Muslims?
wrong, they seem to find no end to finding more things to blame for 'shaming' them because the majority feed off the responses they get from their groups and never learn to toughen up / grow up.
Too many special snowflakes collectively strangle the voices of reason until only bureaucracy and censorship remains.

What does a Muslim censoring imagery have to do with Muslims... is this a trick question ?

No, you are. What makes you think he's putting his Islamic views into practise? He's not even very religious.

There's plenty of non muslims who advocate these laws, why are you prejudicing Mr Khan for? It's disgusting and frankly the posts you make are abhorrent and you're the epitome of a racist, uneducated and bigoted pleb.

I don't understand how that makes it an issue with Muslims. Is everything Boris did as mayor because of Christians?

dont bother mate he's like the TSR village idiot who can't comprehend logic
He shouldn't have that authority, beautiful people help to sell products. So what if a few fat people get irritated over it, if they are that angry they should lose weight and get in shape.

Get a grip, why must you assume everything is associated to his religion? He's trying to sort things out that loads of people complain out LIKE body shaming so give him credit where it's due and stop trying to bring religion into everything.

Well it's not just fat people. Personally i think it's one of the only things feminists are right about. Ads like theses give a social perception of women and they are expected to conform to it, as well as creating misogyny amongst men when a woman does not have the ideal body shape.

In fairness the ad is for a slimming product so a slim person is needed to sell the product.

No it doesn't. I see sexy men in ads and it doesn't create misandry because I don't have that shape, even if it does make people want that. People don't just spontaneously hate men because of the ads.
