It depends on the entry requirements at each university.

    For example - Manchester
    Biochem AAA-ABB Chem required
    http://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/un...-requirements/

Biomed AAA-ABB Chem not required http://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/un...-requirements/

So at Manchester, Biochem is very marginally more "difficult to get into" but only because they have a slightly more specific subject requirement (Chemistry). The overall grade requirements are the same.

This may be different at other universities. You will need to check yourself if it really matters that much to you - which it probably shouldn't. Pick the courses that most interest you (if you are likely to meet the typical entry requirements), rather than because they are "easy" or "hard" to get into.

Fundamentally, unless you are applying for Medicine or to Oxbridge/Imperial/etc it won't normally be that difficult to get offers if you meet the requirements.

As above, plus remember that non-RG unis such as Bath, Surrey, St Andrews and Lancaster are on a par with most of those in the RG.
