I have recently received a letter from SF stating they overpaid me by 3.5k for the year 15/16. This was due to my father estimating his income lower to what he actually earned. This in it's self is frustrating as i haven't lived with my parents for 3 years but due to being under 25 at the time it still goes off his income. I have spoken to both an adviser and also the complaints department and it seems i only have a few options. I can either have the money deducted from this upcoming year payments or i can apply to the discretionarypayments team which may allow me to pay the 3.5k off at the end of my course. They current haven't told me how much i will be receiving this year but to have £3500 taken off it will make things difficult given i live by myself. When i spoke to the complaints team about deferring the payment till i finish they weren't able to give any more information about the payments they would require.
Does anyone have any idea of how much they expect you to pay once you finish? Or does it just get add to the rest of your student finance dept? Given the amount i don't want to pay £100 odd a month on top of everything else i owe as soon as i finish uni.
They also mentioned if i can provide 3 years worth of wage slips due to me living by myself then they may reduce the size of the over payment. Do they need slips from year 13,14,15 is the sufficient enough?
Which unis have sent theirs?
