# S1 Probability quadratic helpppp Watch

1. Can someone explain how to do question 4 part (d) please? I don't understand it at all and the mark scheme doesn't explain anything.

It won't let me put the direct link to the paper but this gives you the link to all of the Jan 2016 papers and S1 is there

2. On which paper?
3. to get the certificate they need to either pass on the first attempt or fail the first and pass the second...

so pass first = p

fail first = 1-p

pass second = p - 0.2

you need to combine these and make it equal 0.95
