Could someone give me some information on EPQs please? I've researched it a bit, but I'm sill a bit confused. Do you have to do a presentation at the end of it, or is it just an essay?
    Thank you x

I did an EPQ with AQA, so I can give you some information on that!

You can either choose to do a 5000 word essay + a presentation, or an artefact + 1000 word essay + a presentation.

I did the 5000 word essay and presentation! For the essay, I had to choose a title which I could argue for and against, so that I could write about the arguments in the essay, and then come to a conclusion at the end. My EPQ specifically talked about the different theories for the extinction of the dinosaurs, the evidence supporting and opposing each theory, and I wrote a conclusion on which I thought were the most likely, based on the research I'd done. I also had to do a 10-15 minute presentation, about why I chose to do an EPQ, what I researched, what I concluded, what I'd do differently if I did the project again, whether I'd recommend the EPQ to others etc.

Whichever project format you choose, you'll also have to complete a Log Book/Production Log. You fill it in at 3 stages of your project: the beginning, middle and the end. You need to write about what you've done so far, what you're going to do next and any feedback your mentor/supervisor has given you. The Log Book has instructions in it though, so don't worry about that!

I hope that helps! If you have any more questions, I will try my best to help

This is a thread entirely for EPQ advice/info/other stuff. I found it very useful during mine.

Also, not to brag, but I scored 100% on my EPQ, so you can ask me anything about it.
