    I don't understand why the answer is zinc carbonate and zinc metal someone explain

    From the results, it is clear the mass is decreasing due to the fact that gas is being evolved.

    You should know the following reactions:

    acid + metal --> salt + hydrogen
    acid + base --> salt + water
    acid + alkali --> salt + water
    acid + carbonate --> salt + carbon dioxide + water

    In the above reactions gas is evolved by either reacting the acid (which in this case is h2so4) with a metal or carbonate. From the given list, two of
    these chemicals fit this: Zinc carbonate and Zinc metal.
