I've recently had my interview for a supermarket assistant at waitrose. Unfortualanetly I was not successful in my application and I received the news through an email. In the email, I was told,''However, we are pleased to let you know we have added your details to our Candidate Bank, to help us support you to find a suitable job match.'
I was just curious as to whether they send this email to everyone, or whether being in this 'candidate bank' was specific to certian people. Will being in the 'candidate bank' actually offer any advantage in the future if I choose to apply again? Does this mean they may contact me sometime down the line if a job offer comes up they think I'd be suitable for?
Thankyou for your time

I'm in the same situation. Does anyone know?

I would suggest it is a polite way of saying thanks, but no thanks but that future applications will be treated as if you hadn't applied. I would continue your search.

I think they didnt reject you completely as when I was applying, I was applying for various branches and the hours and location I chose weren't availabe but they liked me.
I just receieved a call from waitrose asking for my hours again to see if they can match me with a job. Hopefully they match me, the wait has been long.
Therefore I dont think its a rejection and that there's still a chance.
