1. basically i did everything the question asked me accurately to but i have no idea how to interpret 'find the x coordinate of (the point)q' for last mark

surely sinq is the x coord of q and therefore one of my solutions for sinq is the x coord of the point Q?

No, sin(q) is the y-coordinate of Q.

x-coordinate is given by cos(2q) which via the double angle identity = 1-2sin^2(q)
