Has anyone done, or thought about doing EPQs, are they a good idea?

I did an EPQ and got an A in it. I'm glad I did it, because it meant I gained an extra qualification, and also gave me something to talk about in my university personal statement and CV.

I personally think that doing an EPQ is a good idea in general, because it helps you develop skills such as essay writing, referencing and public speaking, which universities like. Occasionally some universities will even lower their offers if an EPQ is being taken

I am doing one, but only because they'll lower the grades I'll need to get into university. I have heard that they're a lot of hard work, and they seem it with the large word count and the amount of research it takes, so I think it will depend on what A Levels your doing and how hard you find them.
