I have a job interview on Monday, and I need advice on what to say if they ask why I left my previous job role. I was fired due to stupidly taking a cup of Sprite from the drinks tap at a cinema. I wasn't thinking at the time, but it was enough to justify firing me. I've learned from that mistake, and it will never happen again.
But what can I say to the potential employer? I want to be 100% honest if they do ask, but don't know how to approach answering. I was thinking of admitting it was a mistake and have learned from it, as well has highlighting that during my time there I got the best sales over the Christmas season... Maybe

Wait, you got fired because you took a free glass of sprite? Most work places allow free drinks and if you are honest, the interviewer will probably think you are lying as it a ridiculous reason for getting fired and you are better off lying and saying you did something worse.
