    Does the number of gcses you take affect the chances of getting accepted into a uni, e.g i took 6, but someone else took 11, but my secondary school only offered 6 gcses, would the unis take that into consideration? Also BTEC's do they count as much as gcses???

    The standard number of GCSEs is 11 but if you're doing BTEC, universities will usually accept these but you just have to get a certain grade in them. Have a look at general entry requirements for unis and the course that you're interested in
