    The phrase is "disappointingly mediocre"

You use it when you know you've done ok not brilliantly and you know you're over optimistic but you know you're never gonna get that high grade and you know if you put yourself down and say you got a low grade when you did then that's not an accurate representation of what you though you got

Thus disappointingly mediocre is the term for you to use when you have something just really disappointing and average

have fun saying this to yourself when you get all those results back

That's a little more than disappointingly mediocre i believe.

Huge disappointment, letdown and mess are the correct terms to describe your brain

I prefer a kind of 'meh' sound or just shrugging my shoulders, but that doesn't sound too bad either.

If you use the phrase "disappointingly mediocre", your results will not be disappointingly mediocre.
